RUDC Conference Receives Funding from William Buckland Foundation

We”re pleased to announce that the RUDC Conference for Donor Conceived People, under the auspices of VANISH, has been successful in it”s application to the William Buckland Foundation Small Grants Program.

This philanthropic program provides funding to support activities, organisations and projects which create online casino lasting benefit for the Victorian community with a focus on health and community wellbeing, particularly for children and young people.

The money will be used to pay for the costs of running the conference, and to fund travel subsidies to allow people from interstate and overseas to attend. It will also be used to record certain parts of the conference program to be posted as an online resource for the benefit of those who can”t attend.

Keynote speaker for 2015 National Conference confirmed!

His Honour, Chief Judge John Pascoe AO CVO, will deliver the keynote speech on ‘Human Rights and the Law’ at the National Conference for Donor Conceived People, Saturday 27 June 2015 in Melbourne. The keynote speech will examine the rights of donor conceived people in the context of Australia’s existing human rights framework.

His Honour said; “I am deeply concerned that there will be many Australian children born with no knowledge of where they came from or their genetic history, and with no way of obtaining this information. This is, in my view, a direct contravention of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.”

His Honour is the Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
